Tick removal is a topic that many people don't know much about. As a matter of fact, the methods that they might have been taught might not be the most useful. This is why it's important to be aware of tick removal do's & don'ts, which organic tick control companies will be able to cover in ample detail. Here are just a few of the aforementioned do's & don'ts that you would be wise to follow to a science.

DO use a pair of tweezers. If you're going to remove a tick from your body, reputable names like Alternative Earthcare will stress the importance of using a pair of tweezers. One of the reasons for this is that they are fine-tipped, meaning that they will be able to easily grab onto the pest in question. This will also result in gentle removal, which won't impact your skin. Any organic tick control will say the same.

DON'T forget to clean the spot afterward. Once you remove the tick, make sure that the spot it was on is cleaned. There are different solutions that can be used for this purpose, rubbing alcohol included, but you can get by with a simple combination of soap and water. Thoroughly clean this spot so that there are no remnants of the tick in question. By doing so, you'll have less to worry about when it comes to the developing of tickborne illnesses, Lyme disease included.

DO use heat in its various forms. Did you know that heat is effective for killing ticks? Let's say that you've been outside for a length of time; it's possible that these pests have found their way on your clothes. Fortunately, by running your clothes through the dryer, the heat from it will be able to take care of said ticks without a problem. This is a great tick removal method that more people should be aware of.

DON'T allow the aforementioned to go unchecked later on. The main reason for this is that while you might be successful with removing a tick, it's possible that it still left a bite behind. While there are many tick bites that are harmless, others can result in serious health problems. If you see a rash developing, or start to feel nauseous or lightheaded, see your doctor as soon as possible. Medical assistance is crucial in this situation.
