A big number of people use store bought toothpaste on a daily basis, and little do they know that it has long time effects. Just like commercial beauty and health products available in the market, it has experienced industrialization making it a different product from what people knew. However, most of the toothpaste contains numerous ingredients that cause cancer and other health effects after long-term use. This abstract lists some convincing reasons on why you should use other toothpaste alternatives when brushing your teeth.

During the brushing session, it is advisable you use a pint of the paste on your brush. However, people use large amounts of paste hoping that it will be more efficient but that is not the case. The commercial toothpaste contains hydrated silica that interferes with re-mineralization of the teeth, therefore, creating cavities in them.

Mouth tissues are soft and delicate, and they get damaged easily by the brush bristles as you clean the teeth. The scratched parts that are exposed to the brushing paste give direct access to its chemicals to your bloodstream. The triclosan chemicals in the toothpaste end up causing allergies, headache, lung infections and nausea to the person using them. Long term use can expose the user to cancer.

All commercial brushing pastes are made with flavored sweeteners like the aspartame. However, this kind of sweetener has been found with so many side effects when taken in for a long period. Some of the common side effects are weight gain, depression, headache and possible causes of cancer. Therefore, it is wise to stay away from these brushing pastes to remain safe from the aforementioned issues.

The major reason why people brush their teeth is to ensure they remain clean and white in color. People who have colored teeth come from regions that have a high level of fluoride in the water. However, water is not the only causative of these colored teeth. The presence of fluorine in the brushing paste also contributes to the discoloration and decay of teeth to people who have used it in a long time.

There are several instances when you find yourself with sores in the mouth, and you start wondering what might be the cause. This is caused by a chemical called sodium lauryl sulfate that reacts with the mouth skin. This sores become daunting when eating and can deny you chances of enjoying your meal. However, companies are using other chemical names to hide its identity after people realized this chemical cause harm.

During hot seasons people of all calibers spend their money on ice creams in the bid to cool off the heat. However, people with sensitive teeth hardly enjoy this delicacy. Sensitive teeth are associated to the whitening brushing paste sold in the stores. The additional chemicals meant to remove stains on the teeth interfere with tooth structure making it sensitive to cold and hot beverages.

Health officials are recommending natural methods of cleaning your teeth. These methods range from using hydrogen peroxide, oil supping, dry brushing and use of plain fresh water when brushing. This will ensure that your teeth remain white and free from cavities that are contributed by fluoride content in the pastes.
