When it comes to buying something for another person, especially when there is not a close relationship, it helps to not go too over the top. Although some may choose to go extravagant or get something that is unique, the best judgment is practical. If personal interests or activities are not known, then choosing something that everyone can use at some point is the next best solution. However, if one wants to give something with visual appeal, geometric beeswax candles may be the answer.

Sometimes, choosing colored candles may be wise or a gift set that can be used on numerous occasions is a nice investment. Although some like to show off things that have a certain aesthetic, these candles can serve a variety of functions. Blackouts, candlelight meals, or just a way to save on the light bill are some ideal situations.

At one time, shelves could only be installed by someone who had carpentry skills but these days, shelving can be added with a touch of a button. Invisible shelves are fairly easy to install and the simple design looks great. These shelving units look best when placed on high walls. Some may add a candle to each unit to give a simple but elegant look.

For those that may have respiratory problems, the beeswax version has the ability to clean the air. This can be a nice relief for those who want to set a tranquil mood after a long day. Just light one of these while having the last meal of the day or listening to music before going to bed and relax for the evening.

Otherwise, some individuals would rather keep their spaces minimal with neutral colors and keep a pair of pillar candles on opposite sides of a wall or other space. This creates sort of a balance between objects unless a person prefers an asymmetrical look. If these are to be lit at some point, it may be wise to ensure that there is ample shelf space so they will remain secure.

Candles can be placed atop surfaces but for some, the higher the better. This works best when there is more than one and there is a pattern in the placement. There is a balance theory that many interior decorators follow where similar objects may be placed horizontally across from one another to create symmetry.

Often gift recipients prefer something that is useful rather than something over the top. Some people like to buy expensive items as a way to impress but at times, this can backfire. In most cases, when people receive something they cannot use, they either regift or trash it shortly after they send the giver a thank you note. With candles and their many uses, it can be hard to go wrong.

When money is tight, it also helps to keep things simple. While most large candles may not be ideal for shipping, a small decorative set that is prepacked can make a nice gift for someone who is settling into a new home or other occasions. Sometimes, the giver may get a decorative candle for themselves because they like how it looks in their home.
