The first qualification that is important is completing an undergraduate degree program in human biology, chemistry or anatomy. This will provide the perfect foundation for medical school. A bachelor of science is the perfect start because it involves laboratory courses that will familiarize a person with lab equipment and procedures that will be common in school of human health.

With a Bachelor of Science qualification, one is set for medical studies. A person will not gain automatic entry. He will have to sit for a Medical College Admissions Test. Medical school is not easy. It is for those who are ready to focus. Distractions are the biggest enemy of success. It is not bad to have a good time while at campus. However, one must remember the bigger picture. The primary issue is to study and pass the various exams. Having fun is something secondary that facilitates rest and relaxation.

Residency beings soon after medical school. This is simply a period of internship. For the case of a gynecologist, he will be attached to the OBGYN department of his hospital of choice. Residency does not mean doing free work. One will receive a salary every month. This period facilitates the application of theories that one learned at medical school.

Finally, after doing all of the above steps, a person will have to seek for state licensure. The journey is not always easy. There will be bumps along the road to gynecology licensure. What is important is going tough. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. This is an important life principle that also applies in education matters. To succeed, one has to give his best. This involves attending all classes and studying hard.
