Hardwood floors serve as a breathtaking addition to homes and parquet flooring makes an amazing, natural centerpiece.

One classic pattern is the herringbone pattern, which is so difficult to properly install that homeowners should never attempt to tackle this task on their own (this is actually true for almost all of the best Manhattan NY hardwood floor inlays). This is a pattern that found its beginnings in Europe and it should be installed in homes with the points traveling the longest direction of the space and facing towards a center point of focus.

There are many different stains and materials that can be used during the installation of herringbone parquet - but ash and oak are used most often. Even though the colors for these floors are often very neutral, these can range from the palest of creams to dark black. Chevron and herringbone patterns are commonly confused, but chevron patterns meet at an exact point and herringbone boards have a more subtle and staggered effect. It is best used in large-sized spaces given that there will be ample room to appreciate this effect.

Given that it is very difficult to install herringbone, you want to choose a seasoned installation company that has long been selling and installing this particular pattern. Check to see that they are using top-tier materials as well. Prices for this type of parquet flooring can vary significantly, according to the wood grade, the stain and the species that is being used. You can find the right grade of wood for your budget - but your new floor should merit a bit of generous spending.

Check whether the kind of parquet they are using can be installed over under floor heating if you have it - this can be a problem with some adhesives, but a good installer will make sure that the floor will stay durable for decades.

In long rooms that are very thin and in large, wide open spaces, herringbone parquet makes an excellent inlay. If parquet floors are something that you'd like to know more about, call a trusted installer to get the information you need or to talk about a more suitable pattern for your home.
